Glad Volkswagen had decided to build cars in the US. They should build where they sell. US is the largest market for them and German engineering always was respected and appreciated in the US

It would certainly be nice to have more diesel options available, and having them made here in the US would be even better.

What, back again? How long will they choose to stay in the USA this time before they pack up one more time for Mexico and Brazil?
At least their quality and reliability have a chance at improving.

Perfect illustration of what's at the heart of the problem for the Detroit auto industry. It's not a lack of American know-how or skilled workers, it's the stranglehold the unions put on the Big 3 that blew them out of the driver's seat. Once the trade unions got in bed with the government, adopting government's essential nature of coercive behavior, it was only a matter of time.

. The news must have gotten to the Left Coast by pony express. They have had that plant there for years, in fact official production started in April of 2011!
