My car has all the bells and whistles but the most accurate way to figure MPG is manually and always fill up your tank the same way. You can not keep topping it off one time and the next time stop pumping when it turns off automatically.

Not sure why the GasBuddy calculator doesn't display $/mile. That would make it more useful.
