Chicago's metro average stands at $3.992 while NYC sits at $3.999. Both are likely to tip the psychologically important $4/gal level at any moment in the next 48 hours. My employer allows telework... That is a big plus when both the price of gas and traffic in Chicago start making Chicago commuting less than fun... But what the heck...$4.00 Really... Why?

NYC, Chicago may join LA over $4/gal average in next 48 hours and gas prices will continue to go up, up and up. The fuel prices at the pump should be lower to help this very bad crappy economy somehow recover much more than it has!
Big Oil and Big Gas sells fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices. 'Coming out of the closet' Sneeky's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, the jobs are Not here. Sneeky's economy is not improving but continues to hurt the population and the job numbers continue to be down! NO More spending gone wild, there has to be a limit! Four more long years before this economy starts to recover.
No Thanks to the Mindless Pinhead Sheep that voted this bozo 'Sneeky' back in office.
The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon - *$3, *$3.50/gallon or *$4.00 is Not the new low!
More Refineries are Not the answer, Stop exporting fuel!
Take care of the domestic fuel market first and above all else!
The Refineries will continue to produce fuel when they are 'shut down,' on a maintenance schedule and/or an upgrade OR for any number of other reasons to justify their thinking.
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Double edged sword, good economic news, let's jack up the prices to take the wind out of the peoples sail and curtail any recovery.
