It is amazing how excited people are over the price getting to the same highly elevated level it was last year.

Prices in Victoria, BC Canada have been all over the place. One day 139.9/litre to 100.9/litre the next day. This seems to be going back and forth within the past two weeks. It would be nice to see the trend throughout summer. Usually due to tourism the prices skyrocket throughout the whole summer, its a nice and welcomed change.

Just watch for the jump on either the 2nd or 3rd-----the gas stations need to celebrate the 4th with a bang.

You Americans are lucky. My gas station in Ontario just RAISED their price of gasoline to $4.78 a gallon (1.259 per litre) from $4.55 a gallon ($1.199 per litre). Isn't that special? Because we are a complacent people, we just shrug and say, "What can you do, eh?"
Meanwhile, the oil companies here don't bother about the disgustingly low prices because they can charge consumers whatever they want. You see, we work in reverse in terms of competition here. If the price of gas skyrockets at one station, EVERYONE follows suit in unison - much like an orchestra responds as the conductor raises the baton. No collusion, though. Our government says so, and I trust them with all of my heart. (Sarcasm, in case you didn't get it). The price will jump in huge increments, then decreases daily in monetary values that don't exist (i.e tenths of a cent) under the guise of "competing". After a month or so of piddly price drops, the price skyrockets again, and the cycle repeats. O Canada...

The drop in prices, however welcome, will only be temporary. Wall street and the politicians will manipulate the prices downward until after the election. In November, the prices will rise again, regardless of who wins. It will be sooner if a major hurricane forms in the Gulf of Mexico. Any reason for a price hike.

Enjoy as long as they are sliding down, anyways they are not low, they are just back to the level they were few months back. It is not like they went back to 90's prices and they will jump again, just wait.

Crude price is falling and retail gas price may start rising due to July 4 travel, I will call it price grouching. This deserve some action from consumer's end.
