Yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember that. Now I feel worse. Thanks for nothing, jaba1230.

You might suffer from memory loss, but I sure don't. Gas is still far too high and it needs to come down and STABILIZE.

God, I was sooooo happy when I filled up my car at $1.45 in Dec 2008 and around $1.40 or so in Jan 2009. That was amazing.

Yes, we had 65 cent/litre in Toronto. But that was the outcome of the recession and oil companies were counting huge loss everyday.

Well, mertie man, it takes a lot more money to refine a barrel of oil than it did in the early 50's. So, the days of 29 cent gas is gone forever. Remember it fondly because you will never see it again.

You might suffer from memory loss, I don't. I remember when gas was selling at .29 cents per gallon and the prices were stabilized, not up and down like a yo yo now. There is no reason they can't be lower and stabilized now.

I'm not complaining.. I'm selling regular unleaded at 2.99 right now.. :)

For some reason, Florida is cheap right now, which is NOT the norm..lol

The difference in gas prices is largely due to taxes. Florida has a tax of 53.4¢ while New York has a tax of 69.6¢. Northern states have higher road maintenance costs because of the weather extremes and also higher labor costs due to a higher cost of living.

I have traveled through New York and have been impressed with the quality of the roads so the money seems to have been spent well.

Minnesota has a lower gas than both FL and NY at 46.5¢. At the present time MN's average is about 11¢ higher than the national average. Given MN's location I would have expected a higher tax so why the price of gas is higher is unclear.

87 is still an "average" of 3.65 around here and as much as 3.95 gallon.

3.20 a gallon is nothing but a dream.
